Home and Business Network Wiring

Audit & Certification

At installation or troubleshooting time, data cabling and Ethernet networks are proven to perform up to Gigabit Ethernet transmission rates. Test results are reviewable through PDF documents and report IEEE 802.3ab standards. Our tests simulate VoIP/CCTV/Web/IP, video network traffic, connection speed, port ID, ping, traceroute, and IPv4/IPv6.

Save time and money, knowing an Ethernet line is working the way it is certified to work.  The most important thing to remember is that hardwired connections are the only way to have 100% reliable interconnecting of devices on a network.

Retrofitting

Retrofitting refers to the addition of new technology or features to older systems, also relates to upgrading a property with industry standard wiring, typically two network and two coax lines to a room. It is much easier to accomplish in a building with an unfinished basement ceiling or drop ceilings and takes much longer to complete than a new build at electrical wiring stage.

When finished buildings are upgraded, a choice cut in a sub-floor, in a wall or through an attic will allow lines to run to the demarc.

Structured Wiring

Structured cabling is the design and installation of a cabling system that will support multiple hardware uses and be suitable for today’s needs and those of the future. With a correctly installed system, current and future requirements are more likely to be met.

The most important thing to remember is that hardwired connections are the only way to have 100% reliable interconnecting of devices on a network.

WiFi is a technology of convenience; only use it if a hardwired option is not available. Limiting unnecessary WiFi use allows for more data to be passed to a WiFi device when needed and limits security risks of data interception.

Thermography

Thermography is used to confirm before and after an attic entrance that insulation of an area worked in hasn’t been heavily compromised for resisting heat flow. It can also be used to check the property for air leaks presence around doors, outlets, and air vents.

If the resistive heat value is low, insulation can be blown in. Venting air leaks repaired, and outlets, doors, and windows sealed. Have peace of mind knowing you aren’t “leaking” money.

An infrared thermal imaging system being used during a home energy audit. The camera is pointed to a wall outlet, on an exterior wall, showing the blue (cold) area within the home’s insulation. The center target area reads 37.7 degrees with a range of 33 to 59 degrees in the area. Energy audits are performed to determine how efficient the house is and to suggest steps to increase energy efficiency.
