Proceed with the install within 60 days and the design fee is credited against the work. If you do not, you keep the plan and owe nothing further. It is not a deposit and it is not a booking fee, it buys a design you own either way.
Ubiquiti’s product page is not the full price.
Ubiquiti adds a per-unit charge it calls a memory surcharge. It is invisible on the product page and appears only in the cart. A UDM-Pro-Max shows $859 and rings up at $926. That charge is Ubiquiti’s, not ours, and it lands on your quote as part of the equipment cost because at cost means at cost.
It is not predictable either. Some products carry none at all, including a switch and a $1,005 camera, and nothing on the page marks which. So we do not calculate it. We read it, per product, from the cart.
What is never hidden inside a hardware figure.
- Hard drives. Not Ubiquiti products, never included with a recorder, always their own line.
- Racks, cabinets and mounting hardware where they are not Ubiquiti parts.
- Any third-party equipment.
- Fluke channel certification. Excluded by default, offered as its own line if you want it.
- An on-site LiDAR scan, and only when you have no usable drawings. Flat $249 for a home or an office, $100 per hour with a two-hour minimum on larger sites. It is never bundled into a design fee.
Before you ask.
Why not just quote the install without the design?
Because that quote would be a guess, and guesses are wrong in one of two directions. Either you are overcharged for padding, or the number moves once someone actually looks. The design exists so the install quote is real.
How long does a quote hold?
Every quote carries a validity window and inside it the number holds. Outside it we re-check every line before anything is ordered, because Ubiquiti reprices without notice and the surcharge moves with it.
How do I pay for hardware?
E-transfer or bank wire once you approve the quote, and it is ordered the same day.
Do you make anything on the equipment?
Not on Ubiquiti hardware. It goes on at their price and we take no cut of it. We would rather the advice be trusted than make a margin on a box.
