A wall socket, a network port and a shutdown plan.
A normal wall socket
The Tower and 2U use a standard 15 A plug. The 2U Pro needs a 20 A socket. We check that on the site walk.
A network port
One port lets the UPS show up in UniFi. That is how the recorder knows to shut down before the battery dies.
A short list of what to protect
Gateway, switch, recorder, modem. Not the space heater. A UPS buys minutes, not hours, so we plug in only what matters.
Common questions.
How long will it run?
Minutes, not hours. The point is to ride through a blink and shut the recorder down cleanly if the power stays off. The 2U Pro gives you about 22 minutes at half load.
Will it shut my recorder down?
Yes. The UniFi UPS tells the UNVR and UNAS to shut down before the battery runs out, so no corrupted drives.
Can I plug a PC into it?
Yes, on the Tower or 2U for a short ride through. For a workstation that needs pure sine, use the 2U Pro.
Does it need a special socket?
The Tower and 2U use a normal 15 A plug. The 2U Pro needs a 20 A socket, which most panels can have added.
