Three things, or the camera is a paperweight.
A cable
One network cable from the switch to the camera. It carries the power and the video. No power outlet needed at the camera.
A PoE switch port
The switch powers the camera down the cable. Most G6 cameras use standard PoE. The 180, the 360, the Pro line and the PTZ need PoE+. The table says which. See switches.
A recorder
UniFi records to a box you own, so there is no monthly fee. Size it by camera count and how many days you want to keep. See recorders.
Common questions.
Is a higher megapixel camera better?
Not on its own. Every camera on this page from the Instant to the Dome has the same 8MP sensor. What changes the picture is the sensor size and the lens, and that step is the G6 Pro line. What changes whether the footage is useful is how far it sees in the dark and where it is pointed.
What else do I need?
A PoE switch with a port for each camera, one network cable to each camera, and a recorder. UniFi has no monthly fees, so the recorder is a one-time cost. See the switches and recorders pages for the sizes.
Two Turrets or one 180?
Two Turrets, most of the time. They cost about the same, see further in the dark, run at 30 frames instead of 20, and you can aim each one. The 180 wins when you have one cable and one mounting point and nothing else.
