Residential fibre repair, Calgary

Your fibre is cut. Book the repair now, we will call you back.

The provider says a week. A contractor put a shovel through the drop. The line to the garage or the shop went dead. We fusion splice residential fibre in Calgary, same day when we can, and we test it afterwards so you know it is fixed rather than hoping. Pick a time here, or call.

Pick a time, we confirm, then you pay

Choose a time. We check we can make it. Then you pay.

One price to attend, first hour of work included. Pick same-day or after-hours, choose a slot, send the request. Mark checks he can be there and accepts, usually within the hour during the day. You get a payment link by email, and the time is yours once it is paid. Nothing is charged until then.

Same-day call-out

$299

Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm. Calgary. The first hour of work on site is included. Earliest slot is two hours out.

Pick a same-day time

After-hours call-out

$499

Evenings until 11pm and Sundays. Calgary only. First hour included. A $200 premium on the day rate, nothing else changes. Overnight, call.

Pick an after-hours time
  • After the first hour, $150 per hour, day or night. Materials are extra.
  • Homes only. Commercial fibre, a cut duct on a site, a multi-strand cable or a carrier hand-off is quoted per job or per splice. Call and we price it on the phone.
  • If a part has to be ordered, you hear that when Mark accepts the time, not on the invoice.
  • Prices are CAD and exclude GST.

Rather talk first? (587) 858-4888. Same prices either way.

What we actually do at the house

Find it, splice it, measure it.

Find the break

An OTDR sends a pulse of light down the fibre and tells us how far along the damage is, usually to within a metre or two. One hole, not three.

Fusion splice it

The two ends are cleaved and melted into one continuous piece of glass, inside a proper enclosure. Not a mechanical clip that fails next winter.

Prove it is fixed

We measure the light loss through the repair and write the number down. You keep it. If your provider argues, you have evidence.

When this is the right call

Cut drops, dead runs and buildings the provider will not touch.

  • The drop to the house was cut by landscaping, fencing, a deck post or a driveway, and the provider’s repair window is days away.
  • Fibre you own past the demarc: a run to a detached garage, shop, barn or suite that the carrier will not service because it is on your side of the box.
  • A splice enclosure took on water or the fibre was crushed inside a wall or conduit during a renovation.
  • The light is low and nobody can say why. We test the whole run and tell you where the loss is, even if the fix is on the carrier’s side.

If it can wait until the morning, it should

Slow wifi, a camera that stopped, a device that needs reconfiguring: none of these are fibre emergencies and none of them are cheaper at night. Non-emergency work in normal hours starts at $100 per hour. Book an assessment instead.

Honest expectations

What we will and will not promise.

How fast can you be here?

Same-day is the aim. We tell you the real time on the call-back, based on where you are and what else is running. We would rather give you a true time than a comforting one.

Can you fix it in one visit?

For a clean cut on a drop or a run you own, usually yes. If the fault needs a part we do not carry, or the break is on the carrier’s side of the demarc, you hear that on the phone and we agree what happens next before anyone drives.

Will my provider accept your repair?

On the customer side of the demarcation point it is your fibre and you can have anyone repair it. On the provider side we can locate and document the fault, which is often what gets their ticket escalated, but the repair is theirs to make.

What if you cannot fix it?

If we attend and the fault is on the carrier’s side or needs a part, you still get the fault location, the test readings and a written note of what we found. That is what the first hour buys, and it is usually what gets the provider’s ticket moving.

Do you do commercial or multi-strand fibre?

Yes, but not at these prices. A 12 or 24 strand cable is two splices per strand and is quoted per job or per splice. Call.

It is cut. Let us fix it.

Book above and we call you back, or skip the form and phone. Either way the price is the price.
