Already have a gateway? Invite us to the console.
It is plugged in, the internet works, and none of the good parts are switched on. Send us an admin invite to your UniFi console and we set it up properly: separate networks, firewall rules, threat protection, clean Wi-Fi, working remote access and backups. Done remotely, usually without anyone coming to your door.
The hardware is fine. Nothing has been configured.
Ubiquiti sells you a gateway that can do a great deal. Out of the box it does almost none of it. That is not a fault, it is a decision: the box waits to be told what your network looks like. If nobody tells it, you have an expensive router.
- You bought it yourself and got it online. The app works, the Wi-Fi works, and that is where it stopped.
- Everything is on one network. The doorbell, the TV, the work laptop, the kid’s console and the guest who came over in March are all on the same flat network with no rules between them.
- An installer set it up and left. Default settings, one SSID, no firmware policy, no backups, and the admin account is theirs not yours.
- You added cameras or a door reader and they are sitting on the main network talking to the internet.
- You are not in Calgary. This is remote work. The console does not care where either of us is.
The full build, not a settings tweak.
Firmware and updates
Console and every adopted device brought current, then an auto-update window set for overnight so it stays that way without you watching it.
Internet connection
WAN set for your provider, including PPPoE or a static IP, IPv6 where the provider supports it, and failover if you have a second line.
Networks and VLANs
Separate networks for main, guest, IoT and cameras. DHCP ranges, fixed addresses for the things that need one, and names that still make sense in a year.
Firewall rules
Guest and IoT cannot reach your main network. Cameras stay off the internet. Written so the next person can read them.
Threat protection
Intrusion prevention at a sensitivity your line speed can carry, ad and tracker blocking, and country blocking if you want it.
Wi-Fi
SSIDs mapped to the right networks, band steering, minimum data rates, channel widths and transmit power set for the access points you already have.
Switches and PoE
Adopted, named, port profiles applied, every port labelled so you know what is plugged in where without tracing a cable.
Cameras and doors
Cameras, doorbells and readers already on site adopted, named, put on the right network, with recording and retention reviewed.
Remote access and accounts
Your console reachable from the app and site manager, admin accounts tidied, two factor on, old accounts removed.
DNS and forwarding
UPnP off. Port forwards only where something genuinely needs one. Dynamic DNS if you need a name that follows a changing address.
Backups and alerts
Automatic config backup on, a copy of the backup file sent to you, and notifications set so you hear about an outage before your users do.
A written handover
One page: what changed, what sits on each network, the Wi-Fi names, and what to do next time you want to change something.
You stay the owner of the console throughout. The admin invite is yours to remove the moment we are finished.
One price, one console.
Flat fee for the whole build on one gateway and the UniFi devices behind it. No hourly meter, no hardware markup.
Remote UniFi Gateway Setup
Everything listed above, on one console. Your gateway, your switches, your access points, your cameras. Booked as a window, done in a session, handed back with a written summary.
Set mine upIf it needs hands on site
Sometimes the problem is a cable, a dead port or an access point in the wrong place, and no amount of remote work fixes it. We tell you when that is the case and quote the visit separately. Calgary and area.
Call to scope it- What we need from you. A Ubiquiti gateway or console that is online and adopted to your own account, an admin invite, your internet credentials if the line needs them, and a window where a short reboot is acceptable.
- Which gateways. UCG, UDM, UDR, UXG and Cloud Key consoles. If you are still choosing one, read Gateways and Consoles first.
- Prices are CAD and exclude GST. Hardware is not included. When you buy it, you pay Ubiquiti’s price and we add nothing.
What we will and will not promise.
Do you need access to my whole network?
No. You invite us as an admin on your UniFi console, and that is the only access we get. You can set it to expire, and you can remove it the second we are done. You never give us a password to anything else.
What if you cannot fix it remotely?
We tell you, and we tell you what it would take. Wiring faults, dead ports, a device mounted somewhere it cannot work: none of those are configuration problems. A site visit is quoted separately and nothing is added to this fee.
Do I have to buy hardware from you?
No. Buy it wherever you like. We do not mark up hardware and we do not need to have sold it to configure it.
Will my internet go down while you work?
Briefly, once or twice. Firmware and network changes drop the connection for a minute or so, which is why we agree a window first rather than doing it at random.
Is this the same as the design assessment?
No. The design assessment plans a system that does not exist yet, from drawings or a site visit. This is configuration of equipment you already own and have already installed.
Do you work outside Calgary?
Yes. The work happens in your console, so the service is available anywhere in Canada. Only the on-site option is limited to Calgary and area.
What happens afterwards?
You own the console, the config and the backup file. If you want us to keep watching it, firmware and alerts included, ask about Managed Ubiquiti Care.
Send the invite.
Pay for the setup and reply to your order with the invite, or call first if you want to check that your gear is a fit. Either way it is one session and it is done.
