The usual setup is a camera company, a door company and an IT company. When something stops working, each one blames the other two. We design the cabling, the network, the cameras and the door control together. They are one system, whether or not they were sold to you that way.

Free egress is never traded for convenience or for a tidier install. If a design needs that trade, the design is wrong.
Door hardware has a cold-weather limit, and in Canada it decides many projects. The UniFi door hub does not go below freezing. So an unheated entryway changes the answer.

- Cameras at entrances and exits sit at head height. High on a soffit, all you get is the top of a hat.
- Loading doors, stock rooms and the till, picked to give an insurer or an investigator what they will ask for.
- Parking and licence plates are a harder job on their own, so one camera does that job and does it well.
- How long you want footage kept sets the storage, and that choice picks the recorder and the drives.
- Cameras go on their own part of the network. They never share one flat network with the till or the office.
You own the recordings
The recorder sits in your building. There is no monthly fee to watch your own footage, and no paid tier that unlocks viewing from off site. We always quote the drives as their own separate line. They are not Ubiquiti products and they never come with a recorder.

Prices are all-in CAD, hardware only, and they are the same figures you will see on our quote. A working door needs more than a reader, and we quote all of it up front.

Before you ask.
Can you integrate with the alarm we already have?
Often, yes. We use dry contacts and relays, which are simple switch connections between the two systems. What is possible depends on your alarm panel, so we look before we promise.
Who holds the admin account after handover?
You do. It is your system. We can keep support access if you want us to. You decide that, and we do not set it as the default.
Do you handle the permit and code side of doors?
We coordinate on it, yes. Door hardware touches life safety and it is not a place to improvise.
How much does a build like this cost?
The price comes out of the assessment, not off a web page. A device count printed on a page is a number we would have to defend later, and we have not seen your building yet.
