How to read these tables
Four things before you use a single figure.
1. Field of view is in degrees. There is no focal length here, because Ubiquiti mostly doesn’t publish one. The lens row on most cameras reads exactly “Fixed focal length” and nothing more. Where Ubiquiti does publish millimetres — the Pro and Edge varifocals, the AI zooms, the PTZs — we reproduce it verbatim. We never convert degrees to mm and neither should anyone else. The two are related through sensor size, and the sensor sizes here range from 1/2.8″ to 1/1.2″. A mm figure derived from a FOV figure is a made-up number wearing a lab coat.
2. “Max draw” is a maximum, not typical draw. It is what the camera can pull with the IR array at full output on a cold night, not what it averages. Budget PoE against the maximum anyway — the whole point of a budget is that it holds on the worst night, which is exactly the night you need the footage.
3. IR range is a manufacturer figure under manufacturer conditions. 30 m of IR does not mean 30 m of usable identification. It means the illuminator throws that far. Recognising a face and noticing a shape are different distances, and neither is published.
4. “Not published” means Ubiquiti publishes nothing in that row. It does not mean zero, and it does not mean we couldn’t be bothered. The G6 Mini Dome has no IP rating published; that is not the same as it being rated IP00, and it is not the same as it being weatherproof.

The G6 Turret is the volume camera of this catalogue for a reason. 8MP, 30 m of IR, 12.5W on plain PoE, and rated −30 °C. It is one of the few cameras that is both cheap enough to buy six of and cold-rated enough to actually mount outdoors in Calgary. Note what you give up against the Pro Turret: a fixed lens instead of a varifocal, a 10/100 port instead of gigabit, and IK04 instead of IK10.
The Edge Turret costs you 12.5W for the same optics as the Pro Turret — 25W versus 15W, both PoE+, identical sensor and FOV. The Edge line adds Bluetooth and on-device storage. On a 400W switch that difference is nothing; on a conditional-budget switch it is the whole design. See PoE reference.

Two traps in this group.
- The G6 Mini Dome publishes no IP rating. Not a low one — none. It is IK08, two-way audio, 9W, and it is rated −20 to 40 °C. Read that as an indoor camera unless someone at Ubiquiti tells you otherwise in writing.
- The G5 Dome and G5 Dome Ultra are rated −20 °C, and the G5 Dome’s weatherproofing is “IPX4 (While Covered)”. “While covered” is doing a lot of work in that sentence.
IK10 is the impact rating worth paying for, and in this group the G6 Dome, G6 Pro Dome, G6 Edge Dome and AI Dome all carry it. IK04 (most turrets and bullets) is a very different proposition in a stairwell or a loading bay.

The G6 Edge Bullet’s 60 m IR range is the longest in the non-industrial range — double the plain G6 Bullet’s 30 m, at 25W instead of 9.9W and PoE+ instead of PoE. If you have a long dark yard, this is the honest answer and the AI PTZ is the expensive one.
All three bullets publish weight both with and without the mount, because the mount is a meaningful fraction of it. If you are specifying a pole or a soffit, use the with-mount figure.

These three are not interchangeable, and the FOV column is why.
- G6 180 — H: 180°, V: 56.7°. A letterbox. Two 8MP sensors stitched to 16MP at 7680 × 2160, a 3.5:1 aspect ratio, at 20 FPS. Built to watch a long wall or a fence line. It sees almost nothing vertically.
- G6 Pro 360 — H: 180°, V: 180°, D: 180°. A fisheye hemisphere, 12MP at 3504 × 3504 (1:1), 24 FPS. Built for a ceiling. Note: face recognition and LPR are not published for this camera — the fisheye geometry is presumably why.
- AI 360 — 360°, 4MP at 1920 × 1920, but IPX4 (While Covered) and −20 °C, and again no published face recognition or LPR.
Nobody’s 360 camera in this range does LPR or faces. If a wide camera has to identify people or plates, it is the wrong camera; put a G6 Turret on the approach and let the 360 do situational awareness.

The AI PTZ Industrial is the outlier of the entire catalogue. 100 m of IR. A 6.36–138.5 mm lens reaching a 3° telephoto FOV. 51W on PoE++ — more than any camera here and more than a UA-Hub-Gate. And −40 °C, the coldest-rated product Ubiquiti publishes.
That 51W matters more than it looks. It is PoE++, so a PoE+ switch cannot power it at any budget, and at 3.8 kg it needs real mounting. This is a genuine industrial camera and it should be specified like one.
The G6 PTZ is the sane one: 24.5W, PoE+, 30 m IR, −30 °C, dual 1/1.8″ 8MP sensors (wide and tele), and it will run on any Pro-series switch.

The AI Multi Sensor 4 is the second-biggest PoE load in the camera range. 34.6W, PoE++, four 8MP sensors at 24 FPS, 2.4 kg. It cannot be powered by any USW-Ultra, any USW-Ultra-210W, or anything else capped at PoE+ — regardless of how much budget the switch has spare. That is a port-class ceiling, not a budget problem. The AI Multi Sensor 2 stays inside PoE+ at 25W, which makes it a genuinely different sizing conversation for two fewer sensors.
Both publish no audio on the MS-4 and microphone only on the MS-2. Neither is a two-way device.

The AI LPR publishes lpr: true and no face recognition. It is a single-purpose camera and Ubiquiti is being straight about it. 25.5W, PoE+, 15 m IR, −20 °C.
The AI Pro is 11W on plain PoE with a 4.1–12.3 mm varifocal and both face and LPR published — a lot of capability for a PoE-class load. Its constraints are elsewhere: IP65 (not IP66) and −20 to 40 °C, the narrowest temperature range of any outdoor-styled camera in the range.

The G6 Instant is not a PoE camera out of the box. Its published power method is a 5V 2A USB adapter (included), with a PoE-to-USB-C adapter available separately and not included. It is Wi-Fi and Bluetooth — there is no RJ45 on it at all. 6 m of IR, IPX5, −20 to 40 °C. It is an indoor camera that happens to be weather-resistant, and it does not belong on a PoE budget line.
The G5 Flex is 4W and IPX4 (While Covered). Genuinely tiny, genuinely indoor.

Four devices, four completely different power stories. This is the group people get wrong.
- Doorbell Lite — 8W, PoE. Rated −30 °C. The only doorbell here that is both PoE-powered and cold-rated. On a Calgary front door this is the answer.
- G4 Doorbell Pro — 16–24V AC or USB-C, not PoE. Gigabit only via the separate UACC-Adapter-DBPOE. Rated −10 to 40 °C. It is a Wi-Fi doorbell with a transformer, and its temperature rating rules out most of a Calgary winter.
- G6 Entry — 16W, PoE+, dual camera (5MP main, 8MP package at 3 FPS), IP55, −30 °C.
- G6 Pro Entry — 18W, PoE+, 12MP main at 20 FPS or 8MP at 30 FPS, plus a display. The device is rated −30 °C but the display is only rated −25 °C. The display is the limit. This is the pattern to watch for across UniFi Access — see power and thermal.
Read the package-camera frame rate. Both Entry models publish 3 FPS on the package camera. That is a still-image cadence, not video. It is there to show you a box on the step, not to watch someone take it.
Detections, recognition and compliance — all 30
Ubiquiti publishes these as booleans. Where a cell reads “Not published”, the row is absent from the spec page — it is not a published “no”.

What this table actually tells you:
- Every camera in the range publishes smart detections and NDAA compliance. Both columns are uniform. NDAA compliance is a genuine differentiator against much of the market and it applies across the board here.
- Face recognition and LPR are not published for the 360s and the older G5s — G5 Dome, G5 Dome Ultra, G5 Turret Ultra, G5 Flex, AI 360, G6 Pro 360, Doorbell Lite, G4 Doorbell Pro. If those features are the requirement, that list is your exclusion list.
- LPR is not published on either Entry model despite both publishing face recognition. Entry cameras look at a doorstep, not a driveway.
- Audio splits three ways: two-way audio, microphone only, and — on the G5 Dome Ultra, AI Multi Sensor 4 and AI PTZ Industrial — no published audio at all.

The 10/100 trap. Several 8MP cameras — G6 Turret, G6 Dome, G6 Mini Dome, G6 Bullet, G6 180, G6 Pro 360, G6 PTZ — ship a 10/100 MbE port, not gigabit. That is Ubiquiti’s own published figure and it is deliberate: Protect’s encoded streams fit inside 100 Mbps. It matters for one reason only — do not let it become an argument for buying a more expensive switch. A 10/100 camera gets nothing from a 2.5G port.
IK ratings. IK10 — the highest published here — is carried by the G6 Dome, G6 Pro Dome, G6 Edge Dome, AI Dome, AI Multi Sensor 2, AI Multi Sensor 4 and G6 Pro 360. IK08 covers the G6 Mini Dome, G5 Dome, AI Turret and AI 360. IK07 is both Entry models. IK04 is most turrets and bullets. IK is not published at all for the AI PTZ Industrial, Doorbell Lite and G4 Doorbell Pro — which, for a 3.8 kg industrial PTZ, is a notable silence.
IP ratings: IP66 is the norm for anything outdoor-rated. IPX4 “(While Covered)” appears on the G5 Dome, G5 Flex and AI 360 — an indoor rating with an asterisk. The G6 Mini Dome and G5 Dome Ultra publish no weatherproofing row at all.

For anyone specifying mounts, junction boxes, poles or soffits. Where two weights are published, the difference is the mount — use the with-mount figure when it matters.

The spread is 4W to 51W — nearly thirteen to one. “Cameras draw about 10W each” is the rule of thumb that produces dead cameras. Four G5 Turret Ultras and one AI PTZ Industrial are the same PoE load and need completely different switches, because 51W is PoE++ and 4W is PoE.
