Over the UniFi Express 7 you get: A slot for a drive, so five 4K cameras record straight into the gateway. You give up the built-in Wi-Fi.
The Dream Router 7 adds: Five gigabit routing, fibre ports, 30 watts of PoE, 50 devices. Same five cameras.
- Records up to five 4K cameras on an SSD you add.
- 2.3 gigabit routing. Five 2.5 gigabit ports. 16 watts.
- No Wi-Fi, no PoE. You still need a PoE switch for the cameras.
- An SSD is not a surveillance drive. Expect weeks of footage, not months.
