Welcome to your UniFi console. One box runs your Wi-Fi, cameras and doors.

This handbook shows you how to do the everyday jobs yourself. Nothing here is a secret. If you can do it in two minutes, you should not have to wait for us.

How to get to it

You have three ways in. They all show you the same thing.

1. On your phone: install the UniFi app (and UniFi Protect if you have cameras). Sign in with your UI Account, then tap your site.
2. On a computer, from anywhere: go to unifi.ui.com, sign in, and click your site.
3. On a computer, at home or at the office: type the console’s address into a browser. Ask us for it, or find it with the free WiFiman app under Discovery.

Your UI Account is the email and password you use to sign in. Turn on two-step sign-in for it. This account is the key to your whole building.

The apps on your console

Think of the console as a phone and these as the apps on it. You may not have all of them.

Where the settings live

• Settings for the whole console are near the bottom of the Settings menu: Updates (software updates) and Control Plane (restart, backups, remote access).
• Settings for one app are inside that app, under its own Settings.
• People (on unifi.ui.com) is where you add and remove the people who can use or manage the system.

One thing to know before you start

Your recordings and settings live on the console in your building, not in someone else’s cloud. Remote access through unifi.ui.com is free and included. There is no monthly fee to use what you own.
